About this course
Legal Practice Management prepares you to run a law practice that is lawful, solvent and safe for clients. It covers admission and the practising certificate, forms of practice, client money and fees, office systems, and the compliance duties that now apply to every firm.
The unit draws on the Advocates Act (Cap 16) and its rules, especially the Advocates (Accounts) Rules, the Advocates (Practice) Rules and the Advocates Remuneration Order, together with the Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2009 as amended in 2023, the Data Protection Act, 2019, the Employment Act, 2007 and the Interpretation and General Provisions Act.
Although this unit has a high pass rate, it overlaps heavily with Professional Ethics. Questions reward answers that pair each rule with a practical system: who does what, by when, and what record proves it.
